Dr Asyraf Wajdi Dusuki
International Shari’a Research Academy
Dr Asyraf Wajdi Dusuki is an Islamic Financial Consultant serving as Shariah Advisor at Affin Islamic Bank, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
Prior to this, he was an Assistant Professor at the Kulliyyah of Economics and Management Sciences, International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM).
He received his first degree in Accounting from International Islamic University Malaysia. After having been awarded as the Best Accounting Graduate of IIUM, Malaysian Association of Certified Public Accountant (MACPA) and Harvard Business School Alumni Club, he joined IIUM as an Assistant Lecturer. He then pursued his Master degree in Islamic Economics, Banking and Finance at Loughborough University United Kingdom in 2001. Immediately after completing his Master with distinction, he started his PhD in the same area. He successfully obtained his PhD in Islamic Banking and Finance from Loughborough University less than 3 years in 2005.
His research interests include Islamic economics, Islamic banking and finance, Takaful, corporate social responsibility and corporate governance.
Dr Dusuki has published in numerous international and local refereed academic journals and presented papers at both local and several international conferences including London, Berlin, Dubai, Tehran, Singapore, Jakarta and Brunei.
He also conducts training in Islamic banking and finance related areas to officers of Central Bank of Malaysia, banking practitioners, government officials and public.

DR. NURDIANA WATI IRWANI ABDULLAH
Dr. Nurdianawati Irwani Abdullah is an Assistant Professor in laws at the Department of Business Administration, Kulliyyah of Economics and Management Sciences, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
She is also an academic member of the International Islamic University Malaysia Institute of Islamic Banking and Finance (IIiBF) and the Shari'a Advisor of Standard and Chartered Saadiq Bank of Malaysia.
Her areas of expertise cover Islamic law of banking, Shari'a law, Fiqh Mu'amalat, Takaful, Corporate Governance, Islamic Capital Market, Business Law and Commercial Law.
Dr. Irwani holds an LLB, LLB (Shari'a) and Master of Comparative Laws (MCL) from the International Islamic University Malaysia, and a PhD in Islamic Banking and Finance from Loughborough University, United Kingdom.
She has produced many journal articles and conference papers in the area of Islamic commercial law and Islamic banking and finance. She is now working on three books entitled, "Islamic Hire Purchase in Malaysia: Modus Operandi & Issues", "General principles of Islamic Commercial Law in Malaysia" and "The Operation and Issues of Takaful and Re-Takaful in Malaysia".
