Dr. Asmadi Mohamed Naim is a Senior Lecturer of Islamic Finance & Banking Division at College of Business, Universiti Utara Malaysia (UUM), Sintok Malaysia, where he has taught both Islamic law and Islamic finance since 1999 for both undergraduate and postgraduate studies.

Previously he was Deputy Dean of Academic Affairs and Student Development at Faculty of Finance and Banking from 2006 to 2007. Prior to that, he was assigned by UUM as Deputy Director of Islamic Centre and as Coordinator for Islamic banking courses by several private higher education institutions.

He graduated from University of Jordan, Amman, Jordan in Shari’a then completed his Masters and PhD in Fiqh and Usul Fiqh at International Islamic University, Malaysia (IIUM), specializing in Islamic financial contracts.

He is actively involved in research and writing related to Shari’a, Islamic finance and academic modules funded by UUM and other institutions, and is the author of several books on Islamic finance.

Dr Naim was recently appointed as Shari’a Consultant to Hong Leong Islamic Bank Berhad.
